Today I am going to share from a very personal and bruised part of my heart. One of my grandsons has been struggling with alcohol addiction. He was raised in a Christian home, went to Christian schools, and joined the Air Force right after high school graduation. After his graduation from basic, he was transferred to an Arizona Air Force Base. That's where he first ran into some serious trouble. No longer surrounded with his support system, he was easy prey for Satan. After some heartbreaking events, he came home to begin a new phase of his life. But Satan's minions still pulled at him and finally succeeded in dragging him down.
Last week he nearly died from an alcohol level nearly eight times what a normal count should be. He faces a long and painful recovery, but one thing I know is that God loves him. He loves him even more than anyone else here on earth does. And through the power of prayer, and God surrounding him with His angels, my grandson will recover.
As my daughter said, sometimes lyrics can say the things which are so hard for us to speak. My grandson asked her to listen to the lyrics of this song.
I can't listen without tears, for God is showing me how awesome and powerful He is. He won't let go of my grandson.
If any of you reading this are fearing for someone you love, please trust in God.
"And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." ~~Ephesians 3:18-21
